NetSplore IEMenuHelpers

IEMenuHelpersSS.jpgAfter you install the download, look in your start/All Programs/Netsplore/IEMenuHelpers for the ReadMe.html file.  Select that file from the menu.

To test the Browse To Selected Text fuction, highlight one of the NetSplore URLs, click your right mouse button, and select the "NetSplore - Browse To Selected Text" option.  Another instance of Internet Explorer should open at the selected URL.

To test the Lookup Selected Text At Dictionary.com function, highlight any word on the web page.  There are three words provided on that page specifically for this purpose.  Click your right mouse button and select the "NetSplore - Lookup Selected Text At Dictionary.com" menu option.  The word you highlighted will be opened in another instance of the browser at dictionary.com.

This functionality works by having html files with javascript that carry out the intended action.  The Browse To Selected Text is one html file, and the Lookup Selected Text At Dictionary.com is another.  Settings are added to the registry to add menu options to Internet Explorer and to then call the appropriate html file when its menu option is selected.  However, the html files are distributed in a resource-only DLL, so you can't get to them to alter them.

If you would like to contribute an html file that adds some functionality and have it distributed with my existing helpers, email me at joe@rattz.com and I will include them in my distribution and give you credit for them.
